This is the website of the sailing vessel Laroobaa, a Tayana 55, and her crew, Lynn and Thomas. It replaces the blog I started last year, but still can be found here.
We bought Laroobaa in 2012 and sailed her from France to Tunisia, with a stop in Sardegna. In September we travelled back to China for work until summer 2013.
In July 2013 we were back in Tunisia from where we circumnavigated Sicily. October we were back on board and sailed Laroobaa to Marina di Ragusa in Sicily, where she stayed over winter.
2014 we quit our jobs and started to become full time cruisers. End of May we sailed non-stop in 6 days from Marina di Ragusa to Cesme in Turkey, cruised the Marmara Sea and the Aegean Sea during summer, spent fall in Crete and hauled Laroobaa out for the winter in Kilada. The photo book of our travelling in 2014 can be downloaded from the documents page.
In 2015 we had for spring and summer a more relaxed approach: no overnight passages and staid longer in an anchorage or harbour, if we liked it there. Recently a friend said, we will run out of anchorages one day, if we rush too much. Slowly we are worked our way to the North of the Aegean Sea, before the Meltemi kicked in and sometime in July we went South again, picked up Kristin and Rebekka in Lesbos and sailed with them over 5 weeks to Crete. On our way to Turkey we stayed 2 weeks in Karpathos and made friends there and had a really good time.
